Hello all,

I recently got a new '07 Pontiac G6 and I would like to have a bass system installed in it. I'm concerned though about how this may effect the electrical system. My system is a Sony 1000W amp pushing two 10" Sony 1100W max subs. Will it be necessary for me to upgrade the alternator and battery or install a capacitor? Or will I be fine as long as I have the correct wires? If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks is advance.

thats fine. that sony is more likely not putting out more than 300-400w rms as sony is notorious for being about rock bottom in car audio..

you will not need a HO alt, battery ot cap (cap FYI does nothing. ) suggest doing your big 3 though, it helps your cars entire electrical system quite a bit

heres an example in my car of what it looks like

its_bacon12: I appreciate your help very much. Why do you believe a cap to be useless? I'm trying to learn as much as I can about car audio so I know what I'm talking about!

The model number of my amp by the way is XM-2165GTX if anyone knows anything about that particular amplifier.
