I am purchasing a pair of SS RL-i 8" subs from Matt and am wondering what you guys would suggest to power it with. Either an exact amp or an RMS suggestion. I know I need the power at 1 ohm. Any suggestions?

How much do you have to spend?

For now, I don't have a budget. I wanna keep my options open. This is sort of a side project, so I would prefer not to spend over $300 I suppose, but would consider anything.

ctmike has a sae-1000d for 280 shipped. That would be a good amp.

That's not too much power for them? I assume that amp would be putting out close to 1200. I was also considering a t5001bd since that puts out 1000RMS.

OK...well I would probably get the Rockford over the Sundown since it has similar power and is a decent amount cheaper. Any other suggestions?

How much power would you give each sub?

i have a nine.1 that will do 450 @ 4ohms @ 12.5v so with a regular charging system at 13.8 you should see about 550-600rms.

it also does about 1400rms+ @1ohm if you need to upgrade anytime later

250 shipped

Sounds like a good deal Mike. I'll keep that in mind, but I want to run more power than 550-600 now, but I don't know about upgrading in the future. I'll check into it.
