When I'm working on my amps all i have to do is take out the fuse outta the fuse holder??!?!

damn i feel like an idiot, i was always told i had to disconnect the negative battery wire...


.....be gentle please...

I disconnect the ground, its more safe IMO.

I don't, since it can possibly create a spark, and that wire is connected to the amp. With electronics, you never know what could happen. So just disconnect the ground to be safest.

I always remove the inline fuse under the hood.....so if thats what you meant then yes your fine

id unhook the batt man....sparks fly sometimes when u do it any other way

I'm with sean remove the inline fuse under the hood and you should be okay.

I've always removed the fuse without a problem.
I have several batteries, and disconnecting several terminals all going to that one power wire wouldn't have been easy. You remove the fuse from the holder, (not the amp), you break the circuit, and there is no more power going to that wire or amp. Simple as that.
Just as big a chance of the batt sparking as the fuse..
