It would add apparent volume to the box changing its' tuning. Do you really want to do that? I've added polyfil/padding to some of my boxes and I never had ill results. Simple to remove if it did. Harmless to try right?

Yeah I remember that link. I USED to believe the possible enclosure benefits were at around 15% at most using fill. That was an "old school" rule of thumb that, along with improved research and materials, has now increased more than double fold. Years ago I would even reduce my volume to accomodate for fill, just to gain its' properties. To me, bottom line, it just sounded better.

Fabric store for one. In the past I've used carpet padding and even fiberglass insulation. There's alot of materials out there with sound absorption properties.

I guess it would be lol. I used it on sealed enclosures only, mostly for home audio.

you need to staple it!! for sure! I use it on sealed boxes mostly! I never really put it in vented boxes unless I am space restricted then I will put it in a vented box but stay away from the vents. Memphis techs are the ones who got me doing it. I Always use subs Tech support to figure out airspace and stuffing when I do this.
