Is it possible for subs to sound sh!ty from a bad signal through the HU. I was wiring up my friends new system in his 96 jeep Cherokee and they sound distorted like theres mids or something tryin to escape (kinda poppy). we put the amp and subs in my car and it sounded good so I know its neither of those. But he has a really old alpine HU, i mean ancient (suprized it even has a faceplate) and the rca are old azz too, could this be the problem? Im just a little confused on what to do.
I tried that but it didnt do help my problem. Im thinkin it has to be the head unit or rca's. There is no adjustments on the HU for an output of any kind. I would hate to tell him he needs a new deck and go and buy one and that not be the problem.
