Are you sending them a clean signal? Sounds like there is distortion more so then lack of power.

But maybe consider a Sundown SAE-1000D if you want more power.

support@soundsolutionsaudio.com for pricing.

That memphis is good. I think if you're clipping, you should check your gain settings first cuz there's no reason to clip if set properly.

About the audible difference, you might perceive something but i doubt a bit.

i have the gain all the way up because it only puts out 600wrms and my two subs handle 500wrms a piece...

i dont think that its clipping really, i just doesnt sound very clean when i turn it up. like when i listen to rap really loud the subs seem to choke and dont vibrate cleanly like they should because they are in a sealed box.

Hey Alex, shoot me an email. I can give you a great deal on a Sundown SAE-1000D or RD 1000.1. The RD 1000.1 does close to 1200 rms, I am using it in my daily driver and VERY efficient. Running it off stock electrical on a Focus.

Try this before you buy a new amp. Set the amp to the volts of the head unit you will be under powering the subs but nothing will happen to your subs if set right.

That's why it's clipping

If your gain is all the way up, the head unit could be putting out a weak signal or the amplifier is not getting enough current.

i took the car to a shop yesterday and the guy said something about matching the voltage on the HU to the output of the amp... so he set my gain levels correctly. he said that i am still underpowering my subs tho and thats worse than overpowering them? how is that?

My choices would be a Kicker KX 1200.1 or a Phoenix Gold Xenon 1200.1 . Polo..
