Resonant Engineering RE8's

I can hit 133.3 db with 2 of them on a 300 watt amp.

and they're only about $100 each.

But honestly, if you want something a little hardier that will probably get louder....the DD1508's should do pretty good, but they'll need a bigger amp...more like 750-800 watts

I have a toyota matrix and i will be running more than two. I am looking to run something a little different.

And just a feeler question how many 8's do you think it would take to hit the 140's to 150

1>I have a Dodge Neon
2>just by looking, I would definately say the RL-i's will beat the RE's big time, RE8's are only rated 250 watts rms.

I have really found Kicker subs to be practical and very powerful. Check out this website, it has a wide selection of car subwoofers for different brands and sizes. http://www.sonicelectronix.com

wow, those aa's look nice.

dd's kinda speak for themselves. would be a nice choice.

i love my rl-i8. as for the lows, i got my rl-i8 to hit right around 130 legal on the term lab with 600wrms, at 34hz, IIRC. i've got to find my old post with the numbers. btw, that's off a factory gm radio as well, in a trailblazer.

the rl-i8s can get loud and they sound awesome. dropping low isn;t a major issue for them

I hit 131 on the dash, with my 2 RE8's at 40hz, and 133.3 in the kick at 49hz....of course thats >2< subs, but it was only on a 300 watt amp, and the factory radio.

that's cool, but my single rl-i did it's number almost a full octave lower. and in a transmission line.

the re8s are nice woofer's no doubt. i have a pair (they say clarion, but they are identical, save no chrome) in the garage.

i think the outlaw number i did with the rl-i was a 132 something. i haven't found the old thread yet.
