So I did Bass Race, outlaw got rained out so only Bass Race numbers today folks. I will soon have burp numbers for ya hehe. So again, here is what I have..

2006 Ford Focus
STOCK electrical
4 gauge power/ground
Eclipse HU 3100
RD 1000.1
2 RD Classic 12's
3.5 cubes tuned to 35hz

I need to explain this as well. My deck does not have a pause, so for the first 2 seconds I pretty much had a 0. As for the 30 second average we got up to a 134.9 on the new TL :-) I was pretty happy with that. Should be in the 40's for burp I am sure, but I will find out this week sometime.

Way too many variables here. Bassrace is nice because you can see how loud subs will play for music, but I wouldn't say comparing TL numbers between two different people is any good indication of how loud certain subs will play. You could have a professional SPL guy with an average of 145 in bassrace, and then another guy with the same setup with an average of 135 db's. The vehicle, install, music chosen, and a million other things can all change the outcome. The variance is just very big when looking at bassrace scored with people with similiar setups. Do a burp test and compare it to other subs. IMO thats the best way to keep things constant and see how loud a subwoofer can get.

im just saying that 134.9 bassrace w/ 2 12's and 1k is not a good score

I'll agree with you.

Playing music the entire time would be a good start to increasing that score

I just don't think the problem was with the setup.

I'd have to see it in person. All TL's are different as well :-) Considering it was my first time and don't have a pause button on my deck, not bad too me :-)

I've seen the same system get metered on three different TLs and score within .2 sealed up on the dash.

I wish I knew this deck didn't have a pause button before I got it, but no biggie, this was a throw in for daily :-) Oh, and my score was sealed with rear seats up :-)

With back seats up that is another thing that would really change the score. With the seats down I would expect the score to increase quite a bit.

What hz did you do a 131 with? Kevin did it in the 30's box tuned at 32hz.
not 50 and 60 hz. And do burp 140+ db on entry level subs in a trunk car in the 30hz range is damn good.

i will get it retested also because kevin is a rookie at it and it took him a few seconds to get it to play and a few more seconds to get the volume up.

The Classics are a pure SQ subwoofer we are also bringing our a 8" version within 60 days.

Tuning of the box does not matter as much the song you play and were that is as far as HZ.

If you want numbers at low cost use the Elite SPL V.2 when it comes out at the end of the month. We tested over 150 db in three diffrent vehicles with 5000 watts. on one 12" scores ranged 151.9-154.2 between 40-49hz. They come in Dual 1's but can be built in D2.

We want to get about 8 more guys running these in competitions. We have a guy setting up with 4 10" and another guy thats building two 15"

"chad that 128.2 was on music 30 sec average In Meca Amateur Street 1 Mode"

Meca is metered at the head rest.A 134 is much louder than a 128.2 that you stated there. How was the SQ of that "test sub" by the way?

2 RE8s, 300 watt Jense..., 133.3db@49hz!!

Post Number: 308

I hit 131db@40hz on the dash, and 133.3hz@49hz in the kick with 2 RE8's and a 300 watt amp. However, that was burping with test tones, drivers door open, and back drivers side seat folded down...but still pretty good for 2 8's..lol

Why would you meter like that? Are you going to drive around town with your door open and drivers side seat pressed against the steering wheel?Seriously...

On that note...why meter at the dash? or kick?

(answer)---that is the way MOST competition organizations meter.

not bad at all with 8's

we are bringing out the classic 8's and possibly a sonance 8"

We have been getting alot of calls for 300-500 watt 8"

When I owned a shop for 6yrs we maybe sold 12 8's a year. But it seems people want a 8" with a 7.5" motor

Metering at the head rest like the way Meca does makes the most sense to me but I think it's retarded when you meter with your door open and seat all the way forward with a big dude sittin shotty with his body squished forward into the kick in an odd position.I wonder what you would meter at if you metered in a normal driving position Canaan and wolfie :-) DB drag style, sensor on the wind and legal.

Dang wolfman, that is pretty good with those 8's. I was thinking 4 8's in the future, but not sure. Street A with 2 SHW 10's sounds tempting. Oh well, I will have to get use to competing in bass race hehe. Got my rookie stripes baby :-)

I meter both legal and outlaw.

(But then again, who sticks there head up next to the passenger side dash to listen?)

I agree to that as well and that's why I said metering at the head rest makes the most sense to me and what did you hit Legal by the way?
