I have a Sony MEX-1GP head unit installed in my car and a Rockford fosgate punch amp that I cannot get to turn on. When I connect the REM wire to the head unit it just powers off. Ive tested the connection to the amp using a volt meter and it shows 12v coming in. Ive tried a few different plugs goin in to the head unit but none work so far. Any suggestions would be greatly valued. Thanks
Jump the 12v+ on the amp to its remote just to see if the amp turns on and works. If so then test the remote wire on the HU and at your amp for 12v to see what its doing or where the fault is. Make sure you have good grounds also.
