RE XXX Useless??

New member Username: Allstar71Jefferson, Ga Post Number: 10 Registered: Jun-07 | I have an 12" re xxx that I have had for 2-3 years... and the wires that connect the speakers terminals to the voicecoils on the hot side have both broken? and the wires have frayed...Is there any way to repair this or trash the sub? |

Although you probaly won't be able to find an exact recone for it, you should be able to recone it with a recone kit from some other company. Talk to scott atwell or ficaraudio, www.ficaraudio.com, see what he says, he'll probaly be able to help you since he designed and was the previous owner of RE. |

Does Scott Attwell work at Ficaraudio?? How would I reach him??? Would I have to do the recone myself?? or ship it off? I dont really know... Would it be better to sell the motor or recone it? (Honestly)?? I'm getting a new 12w7 on saturday...not to start the ol 12w7 vs xxx debate...I'm gettin a good price... |

But... you don't need a recone on that sub, you just need a tinsel lead kit to replace the one that broke.
