this sub is amazing. the range of this sub is just too awesome. its the first day and it already sounds good. i can't wait til this thing is fully broken in.

i tried both sealed and ported. i can take the port out and put sealed.

ported........32hz
it is loud while sounding super clean. can play almost any song and its very musical.

sealed........3 cuft net (recomended by mike from soundsplinter)
sealed is just too amazing. it plays all frequencies at same level. i couldn't believe how awesome it plays. but you know me i still like output so i put the port back on. lol.

Soundsplinter has always had good products. Glad to hear you like the RL-S, I don't know too many people with those. The RL-P's used to be big back in the day.

yeah this is what i was looking for. not overpowering bass but bass that just blends in with the rest of the speakers. still pretty loud for 1 12 though.

i think thats it berny. after tweaking some stuff here and there, it is louder.

btw guys, i bought another epicenter. well its a power accoustic version but it works just as well as the audiocontrol epicenter. also it was only $60. lol.

Such hard decisions.....

Anyways, I gotta do it with a interchangeable port. I don't want it to be built sealed and then be dissapointed with the output.

I am still blown away by the way the rl-s sounds in an optimized sealed box so I left them all that way. Told ya you would love that thing Chad. It is one of, if not the, best SQ drivers ever made IMO. The damping is insane if the amp can keep up.

Not surprised that Mike went a bit over the recommended size for your box since those drivers were especially designed to be in a large space.... we had mindblowing results with the 15" in sealed boxes that were 5.0³. One of them was inch and a quarter MDF all the way around and was sand filled and weighed 140 pounds unloaded. That one shakes the earth

This new setup isn't all about #'s. So giving #'s is pretty useless.

8 15" or 12 12"

Why would you want that if it's not for numbers?

I don't know of anybody that has that kind of setup that doesn't want high numbers.

glad your liking it chad. the rl-s, like mentioned by brad above, has got to be the best, if not, right up there among them, sounding, high output woofer of all time. it gets low, gets loud, stays responsive and clean. not too mention, it's flat out sexy and is backed by one of the absolute best guys in the business as far as customer service goes. mike is as awesome as his products.

and yea, i'll hype mike and soundsplinter till teh day i leave this planet. as teh owner of a first gen rl-p12 (painted black aluminim cone, no logo or signature) and the very first rl-i8 ever sold to the public (thanks mike!!!), i'm a soundsplinter fanboy for life, lol. getting to test the rl-s was an experience. i will own one one day, even if i never power it up, lol.
