i was fitting my pg zr comps. 6.5 in my car. and they are too deep, they were httin the window track, not in the window path but the steel part... i need some shallow mount 6.5's or some amazing 5x7/6x9???
If you double up on mdf that will give you an inch and a half to work with. The only problem is that they will be sticking out and you cant stealth them. If it's more than that don't even bother. The first thing you should always check when ordering any kind of door speakers is how deep they are and how much depth you have to work with... but I guess you learned that now lol.
The only way you are going to pull this off is to put the speaker on TOP of your panel, not under it. Then pop the grill that came with the PG's on it. Not too many quality comps are going to go under the panel like stock, depending on the car.
^^ That's another option and there are a few companies that make them for Explorer's like MTX Thunderform. Only problem is that they generally cost way more than the comps did.
i THINK he meant kick panels, not slc kicks and yea Q logic kicks for my jeep run about 150 a pair....almost worth it though because my dad (and idk abotu your dad but considering its a brand new car, not a beater) doesn't want me cuttin the door panel apart.
oh no, fu*k that, i cant im not talented in that sorta way... i would fukc something up so fast it wouldnt even be funny, id rather pay to have it done for me. me and making sh!t dont go together at all.
