4.0 cu ft tuned to 33 hz ... port up sub up
powered by a kicker sx1250
no tl .. so i dont have any numbers so im basing this stricly on my ear ... so this can differ depeding on the person since sound is objective.
first we did the q ... its broken since my boy has been using it for a month now ...
Opinions of Q - good low end ... higher octives tends to get muddy ... but overall excellent response. the Q has a completely straight gap design and it plays flat, just doesnt roll off as quick in the upper octaves...
It is more likely to peak out then a XXX is. the basic idea behind the woofer is to have good sq ... good low end .. and not break the bank ... which FI has definetly succeded on.
XXX 12 - although it was slightly underpowered. .. the birthsheet on 1250 read 1490 .. the low end on this woofer is ridiculous ... the excursion is outstanding .. unbelievable ... doesnt seem like it would read well on the TL ... but it does have good output ... the xxx is made to play extremely flat in any situation. the xbl^2 motor rolls off at the high octaves and make it seem like it has the most ridiculous low end
overall i feel that they are very even woofers ...
SPL going to the XXX by a hair ... SQ to the Q by alittle bit
how come nobody has questioned the enclosure...4cuft!!??? thats outrageously too big. why was it so big? 2cuft was all that was needed. the review still serves a point...but nobody is going to be runing them ina a 4cuft enclosure but you lol. if you could fill me in mike thatd be great, thanks.
but i feel that if you were to accurately compare them they would have to be in a sealed enclosure to fac. specs. i have not heard any fi products but i know the xxx is a damn god woofer, oh and the comment on underpowering the xxx the 1600 is thermal, 1200 watts is great for that woofer. i ran only 800 to mine. not super eff. but damn good woofers
