OK...so I am really considering picking up a new system. I am trying to figure out if I have the money tho. I have been talking to Ronnie Peay for a couple months, so I want to work with him.

I have Kicker, Rockford, Atomic, Memphis, and DD that I can work with. I want to pick up a new sub and amp. I also want to keep my charging stock for now (2000 Mercury Sable LS Premium) and need a single 12 or 15 (not sure yet). I will do the big three if neccesary.

OK...so I want a system around 1000 watts with a single 12" or 15". I would like your opinion on the best SQL (leaning towards SQ) system. Budget is not important. I can afford any of these brands so long as I keep it to the 1000 watts.

I will obviously look elswhere for deals, but keep opinions to these brands for now please. Thanks guys. I appreciate it.

Ben

That was my initial idea.

My amp choices are pretty much the zx1000.1, t10001bd, or mcd1000. You think the Kicker is the best? I really like the Rockford.

Another thing...will the 3500 be happy with only 1000 watts? I thought it would need more?

For anyone curious, my alternator is 130 amps.

well that rockford amp could end up pushing around 13-1400 watts maybe even 1500 if you look at the average birthsheets

That was my thought. I know it may be pushing it for my alt, but if I can get 1400 watts of Rockford for the same price as 1200 watts of Kicker, why not? I don't know the prices as of now, but I know they are similar.

DD 2512 vs. 3512 - how do they compare? How much difference in SPL and SQ?

never used either as yet but going by specs off dd site

: 3500
Power Handling RMS/Music/Peak
1200/2400/4800

: 2500
Power Handling RMS/Music/Peak
750/1500/3000

evry1 knows DDs r overbuilt & can handle more than rated so no sense IMO buying a sub which will need more power than ur willing to supply ....

dont know personally about either from an experience standpoint, but i would go with a 3512 in case you get the urge to upgrade ur elec and run more power

the 25 will not provide the SPL that the 35 does, but the 35 won't give you the SQ a 25 does. If you're leaning towards SQ then I would go with the 2512 and a kicker 1000.1 or even a 750.l would still sound very nice.

u can find zx100 and zx750's real cheap and they work great w/ 2500. u would be low-nalling the 35 with a zx1000 but would still work. zx1500 wou;d be super.
