I currently have 2 12w7's in my jeep, I have been shopping for the right amp or amps to get and heard from numerous people that the JL 1000/1 is the best amp for this sort of system. Any insight would be great!
Thanks

What ohm are the subs?
What is your budget for amp(s)?

Each has 3 ohms, my budget. Well I have about 1000 for the amp/amps. So if it is a really reliable amp then I may spend the money but if there is a more good amp for cheap then I may look into it. I was told that this sub will not work with any brand of amp it must be a top of the line amp kicker, JL, orion, memphis etc.

Sundown makes very good amps.

SAZ-1500D $450 at LowHz.com Ben or Kevin will help.

Get 2 1000/1. one for each sub. Or 1 jl amp.
Those will give you a 1.5 ohm load, and the subs are 750 rms. So in theory, you need 1500 at 1.5 ohms. So, If it was me, I would get 2 JL amps.

Sundown would work very well. I am sure you have upgraded your charging system, so at 14v you ill see closer to 1700 rms from the sundown @ 1 ohm, and you are needing 1000 at 1.5 ohms so a Sundown on each would work well :-) Shoot em an email.

FYI, you wont beat sundown or most ZED buildhouse amps. they do a lot of things that Jl and most big mainstream brands cant. sundown amps can be dropped down and burped at most any ohm load if you have the electrical system. for a while they were even warrantied down to .5 ohm

well the JL amps have the RIPS system which means it doesn't matter what ohm load you run it at, youll be fine from like 1.5 to 4 ohms and be getting 1000 rms at any ohm load. Personally, i'd just go 1 1000/1 bc it'll get loud and 2 1000/1s are a little outta the budget and unnecessary
