ha yeah i got the dual 1 ohm. well i guess what i'm asking is.. how would a 5cu box at 35hz compare to a 8-9cu box at 35hz?

well here is my guess for a bigger box, don't take it as the word of god: better low frequency extension, higher efficiency, maybe a bit sloppier sounding(?).

Yanks fan i didn't actually expect anyone to find that haha.. but yeah thats it, pretty surprising.

I want this sub to hit low so i'm kinda leaning toward 35hz at 6-7cu ft

If looking for the low lows why not tune to 32?

Yeah Garcia I'm supposed to get the sub on thursday so i'll try to let you know how it is. I think a 7 cuft enclosure tuned to 35hz will do the trick

I'm with Jake. Why not go to 28HZ? You want lows...

I don't want to go to low and lose some SPL nor do I want to build a 9 cu ft box to steal all my trunk space. Ok this might be me final choice here..

7 cu ft @ 32 hz if i don't like it i'll just change it later, but i'll let you guys know how its sounds.

thats sounds perfect to me Ken. I like the 32 hz tuning. My van with the 8 BTL's is tuned to 32. Well 32.5 to be exact! :-)

you can go smaller and polybatton it put it in loose first ....get the sheets then youll know the results and tuning (5.1 cubes with six pounds of poly batting) should give you at least 6.5 cubes

maybe try 5 pounds first to be safe and add to as much as six pounds

Yeah I have heard filling the box yields about a 20% increase in volume.. But I think I'll just build the box the size I want it so the tuning doesn't get adjusted from not knowing the actual volume of the box
