i was bidding on a pioneer avh-p7500dvd on ebay. i put the max at $600 but i got outbid. so i am letting that go. i am not about to drop $600+ on a used indash dvd.

It's gonna be really clean Chad. I bought three of those rl-s last year for two seperate installs. One was for a SUV and the other two were for this rich guy that contracted us for his home theater install. The ohms are a bit tricky since it is a single 3 ohm coil as you know. You'll be feeding it over 1000RMS with that Kicker and it will blow your mind. I haven't heard too many subs that have such great SQ but also have the ability to hit really hard.

SS took the TC technology and ran with it, and came up with one of the best overall drivers in the industry IMO. The excursion on those things has to be seen to be believed. You'll be able to have the SQ you are looking for but without the ultra power issues, but still be able to blow someone that sits in your car away with neck bending power when you want to. That's pretty rare...

"From all the talk it sounds like soundsplinter just bumped the ava off the king of the hill in SQ. What's the FS on that again? This is getting me excited! "

to those that have heard teh rl-s, nothing AA had is anywhere close. nothing against AA, and i've not heard anything new, but compared to the old xbl^2 stuff, the rl-s and it's LMT motor is just insane. it drops stupidly low, and gets insanely loud at those low notes. and it's fairly efficient. while the t/s doesn't say so, it's not as power hungry as was first thought. nor does it need huge boxes. it loves big power and large enclosures though, lol, but works just fine with normal stuff.

the 12 i played with was ran in the last gen re xxx recommended box i built for my xxx. teh rl-s destroyed the last gen xxx in it's own enclosure. it was that much cleaner, that much lower, and damn near as loud with half the power.

chad is well on his way to audio bliss with the setup he has listed, lol. and if his front stage is strong enough, that's all one needs. though i'll never run focals again, was really disappointed with the midbass/range response.

looking good chad.

the rl-s will be louder also cleaner in 1500 watts. and with that you will not have to upgrade your alt

Chad, just remember the sx900 isn't a class D amp, it may not handle the lower loads like the SX1250's do. BTW I have a SX900.4, great amp just need to double up on the door speakers to be able to use it, lol. Polo.. :-O

You may be better off splitting the coils, using a separate channel for each coil just DMM the output. The amps are really efficent and be sure to get the SXRC remote, you can find them on e-bay for $99. Polo..

I'm sayin get the Fi Q cause it will be fine with just 1000 watts and he doesnt wanna upgrade his alt...The Rl's can go up to 2000, so around that area is were its full potential will be, and he would need to upgrade alt for that

s.singh....i ran the rl-s 12 in my wife's trailblazer in 2.5net @ 28hz. it was a beast. i used an orin 2500d @ ~4ohm to give the sub 12-1300wrms, and achieved a best term lab score of 139.9 @ 34hz @the headrest and with the factory radio in place.

keep the power at or under 1500wrms (like mentioned above) and an alterantor upgrade won't be necessary. maybe a battery.

not dogging the q either. it's proving itself all over the place, but it's just not the same beast the rl-s is. if budget is a concern, teh q is an awesome choice. also space. the 12" rl-s likes bigger boxes then the 12" q. so dependiong upon your overall goals, one might be better then the other.
