so i want to get this straight so i can build this box when i get my explorer this weekend...so kevin ( and rd's site) reccomend 2.5cuft tunned to 38hz (two 3" ports 8.35" long)-for one alpha 12...so my question is can i jsut build a box 5 cu ft using one 6"x6.16"(length) round port, which will still make the box tune to 38hz...will that work out...? any suggestions appreciated, like a bigger box...or different tunning ?...thnaks...by the way, i have two alpha 12's...that will prob help lol

that is what it comes out to be 2 3" ports 8.36" long for the single 2.5cu^ft box but thats 84sq^in of port seems like a little much for a 2.5cu^ft box. even at 16sq^in per cu^ft thats only requiring 40sq^in of port face.

but if thats what RD recommends then it should work out nice.

You don't really want to put both subs in the same box. Not without a partition anyway. Even tho 5 cuft is right for 2 subs. It is way to big for 1. which would happen if for some reason you loose a sub. If I were you, I'd rethink this a little.

Both subs in the same box will be fine..unless 1 quits working.

u know what it might be better for me to put both in seperate enclosures(well one big box with a divider...b/c if my stock alt dosent put out enought to run the 1750.1 @ 1ohm then i can run one of the subs @ 2ohms until i get my ho alt...logan what do u got ur alpha tuned too...rd reccomends 38hz....u think i should go lower, im used to tuning around 32-35hz for daily...but im thinking they would know what frequency is best...
