By the way a zero-phase sub box is basically one that has damping on every curve and wall of the transmission line so that when the rear-wave energy (which causes cancellation and phase distortion) gets back to the rear surface of the cone, it is at such a low level that it has little to no affect on the cone behavior.... hence the name zero-phase. That's as simple as I can explain it, so if you still don't understand, go back to school ya retards

Actually if you look at that pic it matches the phase of the rear energy wave to the front, minimizing or eliminating phase cancellation. Problem is that it is designed for low level systems and in order for it to work correctly in a high power, high stress situation, the box would need to be much thicker and heavier or some of the rear wave would begin to penetrate the back of the enclosure increasing cancellation.
