Funny smell

sometimes when i play a song that really slams i start smelling something similiar to rain water. like when a storm is about to come. its been doing it for the last year and a half i havn't paid any attention to it. but since it has never stopped im a lil concerned

Does it smell like pool water at all? Did you get a new box recently?

But you may be burning the coils of your sub, amp may be overheating, or your wirering is subpar. What set up is it??

i really dunno i dont really touch them i just turn them down a lil. then turn it back up. its been happening for a long time, if i was clippin would they have blown by now?

Throw a DMM on the subs coils and check the ground wire. Ground connection can corrode over time. Also see if anything feels hot. It may just be that they run hot. Maybe its a wire somewhere melting. Hard to say. If its working ok, then maybe just leave it alone. In time it will become evident what is causing it.
