My father got my car for me for school while I'm up at state college. I have to put the system and rims on it myself however(well i gave him the money to get the car anyway). This is the system I was thinking of

JL Audio 12W6v2 (x2)$730.00

Hifonics BXi 1606D-mono amp $265.00

Clarion MAX675VD- headunit $679.00

MB Quart QSD164 6.5"- doors $249.00

MB Quart QSD210 4'- back seat $269.00

Hifonics ZXi 6406- speaker amp $229.00

total- $2,421.00

Is that a good set up? I think i wanna go ported for the sub box but where can i have it made? Any suggestions on the system?

If you have the $ to get the JL subs, they are great. You can get some awesome subs for a lot cheaper tho if you are open to suggestions.

You can get much better amps than Hifonics, they are budget equipment.

Also don't buy those speakers unless you've heard them and know you like them. They are known for having very harsh tweeters.

sub amp: http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=4676

front speaks: http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=4130

amp for speaks: http://www.woofersetc.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=product.display&Product_ID=3952

rear speaks polk db 6.5" coaxial

your head unit up there kicks a$s nice choice!

comes out to about 1800$ with wires and box. i'm assuming you have a ho alternator, if not add 400 bucks and you're still below $2410

dual 2 ohm subs. the only speakers out of those in that price range are those neodymium 6.5"s.

If it was someone from low-hz, they seem to have a beef with Fi and I'm not sure why. Fi AND low-hz (and the brands they carry) are all good.

Yes, I did M.S. Beef with Fi.... naw not me. They have beef with Low-Hz for some odd reason, as for that thread they started few weeks ago. As for problems with Fi, I know of a couple guys that have had problems with the BTL and Q lines. Not getting into a pissing contest, but just do the research :-)

" as for that thread they started few weeks ago "

Link to that? I've never seen anyone from FI bash on anyone else. And yes like I said I've heard of a few people having issues with the BTL and Q but last I heard everything was resolved.

RE is ridiculously overpriced now. Scott, the guy who designed RE's subs is the owner of Fi.

Basically Fi = what RE used to be

I have dial up, it would take me ALL night to find it haha. Bunch of guys know what I am talking about though.

As for RE, they are good products, just tad on expensive side.

you need 3/4" mdf board and liquid nails and deck screws.

you can do one box with a slot port tuned to 30hz

32" wide, 16.5" tall, and 22" deep. i know that fits cause i have a acura tl

the port needs to be 4" wide and 25" long

DONT USE LIQUID NAILS!
That is complete sh!t. Talk to anyone who knows anything about box building and they will tell you carpenters wood glue FTW. You need silicon caulking, 1 5/8" - 2" drywall screws, 3/4" MDF wood of course, dont get 5/8" or 1/2", cuz that is teh suxX0rZ.
