For the single 12L5 ported
1.75 cu.ft. @ 40 hz - $ 145.00
2.50 cu.ft. @ 38 hz - $ 155.00
3.25 cu.ft. @ 37 hz - $ 165.00

For 2 12L5's ported
3.5 cu.ft. @ 40 hz $ 175.00

Price quoted do not include shipping.

Anything larger than 2 12L5's ported than 3.5 cu.ft. ya run into size and shipping weight issue's.

Jeremiah,

Those are Kickers recommended Spec's, not mine.

He didn't say squat other than what he put out there, if he wants something to his preference, he needs to say so.

Oh and BTW, 1.75 cu.ft. @ 40hz for a Kicker S12L5 or L7 is pretty d@mn loud and the bass response is not sloppy one d@mn bit because I built and heard plenty of the kickers in their recommended spec'd enclosure's and not many 12's can hold a candle to them other than the OBER 12's that are out there.

John wheeler-

How many boxes have you built now? Is it 2?

And after the first one weren't you asking how to tune it?

ReArrangeYaMind-

I have built 4 boxes now, and am about to begin my fifth and I am getting ready to build one for someone else on ecoustics here shortly.

Yes after the first box I asked how to tune it.

Any more questions?

Well I can build one if you want. It will be custom and build specifically for the sub. CC boxes give no specs or anything, they are mass produced, built cheaply and shipped nationwide, so a custom enclosure will definitly be better than a CC box. I started my box this afternoon and need to pick up another sheet of wood, so if ur interested in a box for your L5, let me know and we can work somethin out.

Yea, basically CC boxes are crap. If you were impressed with those, you will be surprised with a properly built and tuned box. I built a buddy of mine a 2.0 cube box for his L5, and it sounded very nice. A nice SQL setup.
What kind of music do you listen to?

kickers recommended boxes are crap I dont care what they say it's just like JL if you get a JL w7 box 1.75cu.ft @ ( I think ) 37hz but if you put that W7 in a 2.5cu.ft @ 32hz you would love the out put more low ind and better SQ/SPL

40hz isn't even considered a high tuned box. i don't know why alot of people think that you have to tune it slightly above 30hz to make it sound good. my box is tuned to 42hz and it sounds awesome. it gets low. it all depends on the subs really. some subs like higher tuning while some subs like low tuning.

to me a high tuned box is above 50hz. most of the music we listen to with bass peak between 40-50hz. there are some that hit low like young jeezy and jibss. both of those sound awesom in my "high" tuned box btw.

Fisher, I am in the midst of building a ported box with a flaired port or whatever anyone wants to call it. I am to the part where I need to cut slits in the wood for the bending. I forgot what you said how deep you cut those on 3/4" mdf? Thanks in advanced bro.

I think he means 3/4 of the way through. About 9/16ths of an inch.

3/4 of the .75" thickness or 9/16ths of an inch, which is more than 3/4 of the way through?

This is fishers box but it looks like it goes through more than 3/4 of the way..Upload

"This is fishers box but it looks like it goes through more than 3/4 of the way"

It sure does. I guess it's whatever you're comfortable with. Either way you'll be using alot of adhesive between the cuts. I'd guess ^^^that was closer to 5/8" deep. Just my guess though.

Its a 2" wide port logan ;)

I cut all the way through up to about 3/32" or so. You can experiement with different depths. I didnt do a whole lot of experimenting, but this worked great for me.

Cool, thanks. Did you just use a hand skill saw to cut those slits? I tried on my table saw but my table saw doesnt have an affective way of pushing it along the cut path without wobble.

No, I used a table saw. I just moved my fence 1/2" at a time, and made 10 cuts.

my fence on the sears table saw is only 13" wide, so I can't fit that long board in there, so I gotta use the skill saw I guess..
