there are some people porting some part of their cabin so the air gets out. you have to put it somewhere where the judges won't be able to see it. its cheating but its effective.

thats porting the cabin to the outside of the car. find a way to release some air from the cabin to the outside.

that is effective if you meter with everything sealed up. if you meter with the doors or windows open then there is no point.

another tip i've learned is.......find out where your car flexes the most and have someone sit there.

" thats porting the cabin to the outside of the car. find a way to release some air from the cabin to the outside. "

I've been thinking about that.... my truck has vents in the bottoms of the doors that vent the cabin to the outside through the door jambs.... I've haven't seen that on many other cars so I wonder if mine is already ported to the outside?

what kinda car do you have M.S.? i forgot to add that porting the car works well for cars with small cabin. for my car i gain like 2db's by opening my door. but for a suv not much gain by opening the door.

Find access to a mic.

Duct tape.

Resin.

45's?

Sound deadening.

Visors up? Down?

Seat up? Down?

.....and 8 million other subtle changes.

It all boils down to 2 things. Having access to a mic, and taking notes. Subtle changes in your deck, amp, line driver, eq, BOX, seats, visors, batteries, even where you stuck your amps will adversly or positively effect your number. Record each .10th gain and loss, and everything you know about your install while doing so. Records keep you from losing track of your gains, and IMO are the most important thing i can think of other than having a mic to show you where you lost or gained. Adding the 10th changes together will possibly mean a 1db or more overall....but, the fact is, you only need 1 tenth to win.

You will do well to note.....

An ear mic, tells you no more than an a55 dyno will. You need a mic.

Effort does not = results.

Duct tape, if allowed, is your friend.

Leather / vynil does better than absorbative materials such as velour.

Why cheat to win a trophy? Easier to just buy the dam thing. Like,..... in MECA. (ha!)

ms the vents your talking about are to allow the door to shut easily youll find them in every trunk it allows pressure to be relieved so shuttin the door/trunk isnt hard.

It's an old style S10 Blazer..... so yeah an SUV so I guess I wouldn't gain as much from porting the cabin to the outside.

What Pat said sounds right it's just on my door panels there actually are vents that go into the door and I haven't seen that on some other cars.... I guess they do it a different way.

visors down aginst the window

seats up all the way and leaned forwards including the one u are in

if u are burping from inside the car try and kinda lean up closest to the windsheild as possible to limit the volume of that area(have seen it to be very effective)

just because its a comp dont throw ur bass boost and gain all the way up a properly set amp can gain u wonders

if your headrests come off take em off
