Or, If you want to go with RD, Look into the Elite series...but not the Elite SPL.

It sounds better. But there is a big difference in 1500 and 2200 watts. If its going to be 2000watts or lower I would Run the Elite.

a single elite simply can't handle 2000 rms where the alpha has really good output on them and would handle the power perfectly i think you would be better off with a single 12" alpha. the Alpha IS a SQL sub but it is the best sounding sub i have owned so far

The Elite will not handle 2000 RMS. It is rated for 800-1000 RMS based on the app. We have done side by side comparisons between the DD 3515 and Elite SPL 15 and in the test vehicle the Elite was not only louder the DD 3500 caught on fire basically with the same power.

The Elite SPL does not have bad SQ but a somewhat high F/s. If you are looking for loud SQ the Alpha would be the way to go, it wont have a problem with the 2000 RMS.

The Alpha v.2 is quite a bit stronger than the old alpha. They feature a new magnet structure thats 50 ounces larger. They also have a 10mm longer coil wind and a new hot forged steel rounded backplate.

I will put the newest version of the alpha against anything in the comparable price range on the market including the HD3.

To catch the DD 3500 on fire, I am sure it was more than 2000 rms or something was wrong with install/sub.

The Elite is a nice Sq sub and gets loud. If you want alot of output and good SQ, the Alpha is way to go. My comp guy has ran DD 9500's and now Alpha's. I will have him post on here and a thread for you guys. He has 4 Alpha 15's and for now to play with, only 1500 rms :-)

The Elite SPL and DD 3515 were both tested in an enclosure around 4 cubes with 4 inch aero ports, with around 4600 RMS going to them. The DD did not turn into a bon fire but it cooked and smoked and the coil fused inside the gap alittle.
