a amp that does 1200rms at 1 ohm draws less current than an amp that does 1200rms at 4ohms, is that a correct statement or not?

thanks

1ohm is less efficient in most cases...so the 1200 at 1ohm will porlly draw a lil more current.

1 ohm is more efficeint then 4 ohm. it might draw more but u get cleaner signal and better efficeincy

Jordan is right, SPL is wrong.

Most, not all but with MOST amplifiers, as impedance (ohms) is increased:

Power output decreases

Efficiency increases (meaning it draws less current)

Damping factor increases and THD decreases (that's the "cleaner" signal)
