Gain control?

if i have my gains set high, but i never push the amp to the point where it reaches full output does it hurt the amp??

No. But if you did turn your HU all the way up you would clip the amp.

^^^^^ Yep. Turning the gain up higher makes the amp reach full output at a lower volume on the HU. Then if your turn the volume up more, it will clip.

It will also clip due to inadequate voltage.Try to keep it all in one thread on related topics :-)

thats kind of what i thought. so i can clip if im under 12 volts OR if im overextending the capabilities of the amp. those are the two ways correct?
