Hey...I am considering helping my brother build a new box for his two Perfect 10s when I get done with school next week. Would he lose much SQ going from a sealed to ported? They are sealed now and sound great. On the same note, would he have a significant increase in SPL? Thanks!

No you can make a ported box sound as good or better than sealed.. its been done before

your gonna need to use a good program and get as close to a flat response as you would like it} and tune it lowww

Yeah that's what I was thinking...glad someone was agreeing with me. So is the loss of SQ worth the gain in SPL...kinda looking for other opinions on how substancial the gain/loss will be.

Well, what should I tune this thing to? Like 30hz? And anyone know the approx driver displacement in cubic feet of a 10" Perfect?

I have my Q in a 26.7hz ported box it sounds great and gets LOUD..

the perfect is .072 cu ft. displacement

id say throw it in a 28hz ported box since your leaning more towards SQ

OK...thanks man. I looked around and couldn't find the displacement

Final questions...sedan therefore port and subs back, correct?

Also, two ports or one common for best SQ?
