For setting gains:

And yes you're right those amps do suck. But hey if it's all you've got, then I guess run it till you can get something better.

BTW don't run that amp at 1 ohm even though it claims to be able to handle it. I have heard of a few cases of those amps blowing when run at 1 ohm, and I heard from someone who talked to kenwood about it that they (kenwood) don't recommend running those at 1 ohm anymore due to so many failures.

if i cant run it at one i would have to run it at 4 right?

what do u think the sound difference would be from 1 ohm to 4 ohm
but yea i wont run it at 1 if u dont think its a good idea

Depends on what voice coils the sub is?

And you could run it at 1 ohm if you really wanted to, I'm just sayin what I've heard and wouldn't expect it to last real long that way.

Well you would need to decide what amp you will be getting, then choose the subs VCs based on wether the amp is 1 ohm or 2 ohm stable.

Then you would need a dual 2 ohm sub. And if that's the case, I would run the kenwood at 4 ohms until you get the new amp. You won't get much power, but hopefully it won't be too long till ya get the new amp?

Yes.

As long as you're positive that your amp will be 1 ohm stable.
