I finished the box yesterday and mounted the subs about an hour ago. 2x Alpine SWR-1242D (Type R's) with a ZX450.2 amp which is for sale by the way. This amp doesnt come close to powering the two of them, but its a temporary component in my new system.

Let me know what you think of the box, my carpet came on Tuesday and ill be carpeting the box sometime next weekend hopefully!

Pretty good. You may want to consider caulking on all the edges to seal all the air. Also, paint those ports black...

because the mono amp is like over 1000 watts, which is pushin it on my stock batt/alt/wires. And there is no in between there, the lower mono amps are too low, so the 2 channels are right in between, and the amp cant be 2 ohm stable, must be either 4 or 1, because my R's are 4ohmDVC

Does orion overrate or underrate, or are they on the ball?

hmm.. those R's bump even with that ZX450.2, i think steppin it up to ZX850.2 would be more than enough bump one could ever want.. unless ur runnin like 4 L7's in a Yukon, but thats just rediculous.. (L7's right chauncy?)

how do you plan on running that 850.2 ? i think it does 850 x 1 @ 2 ohms bridged

you need a 1 or 4 ohm load FYI

Kicker has nice amps. Go with them if you like them and have never had a problem. It is personal preference. You won't go wrong with it.

ive never had problems with my amp mounted on top, neither has anyone ive known. I used small screws so they dont even penetrate through to the other side.

It's not that John...it's all the vibrations running through an amp with small breakable parts...you get the idea.
