I have a 200 gig external HD that I use to BU my computer. I've had it for 3 years. I have movies, vids, music, pics, whatever, and I've used less than half so far. Storage is cheap!!

i would like to hook up one of those external hard drive but i would need a power source. 4gb is enough. later i am thinking about getting the 16gb flash drive. i love this thing. ima go outside and take out the cd changer now. it makes my amp installation look cheap. lol. not to mention it rattles.

Media storage is only going to get cheaper and cheaper. My prediction is that movies will be able to be stored on a "credit card" sized device. JMO

4gb of songs? That's not much. Have you thought of getting 2.5" hd with a usb case? It doesn't need any other power sorce.

btw there is a downside to having a large media storage connected to your car system. scrolling through all those folders to find the damn songs. lol.

Well with 4 Gigs will get you fit between 500-800 songs I would say, depending on file size of the song. That's plenty for me but I'm used to my 2 gig Ipod Nano which I use for running.

I can only run so long.2 GB is more than enough space for my music while I run.
