Countersinking

What size drill bit should i use to countersink the screws thru my sub to my box?
I got #8 x 1-1/2" construction screws

i saw this guy using a screw that countersinks it self. can't seem to find those at home depot though.

but to answer your question, determine what size head the screws are and choose a drill bit accordingly.

They sell special drill bits just for counter-sinking.Just go to a local hardware/tool store and have a look around.

^^^Both are well known methods. I have use a larger drill bit and turned it with my hand to create a countersink.This is what Chad Lee is talking about. There are also drill bits that will drill a hole and countersink the top of the hole at the same time. This is what Rob was talking about.

they also make just a cone shaped bit to countersink a hole that has already been drilled...
