Can i put subs in a box to big

a can i put some subs in a box bigger then i was told to if i did would it be ok i am going to get my box made and put some temp subs in then get some good ones later but if the temp subs sound like sh** in a box to big

if the box is too big the subs can bottom out.

its bad. you can damage the subs. not to mention it sounds like sh!t when it bottoms out.

Maybe you can add something to the inside of the box to add displacement to change the volume. A box inside a box.

no bottoming out doesn't mean hitting the lows.

Bottoming out is when the speakers are moving too far and exceed their designed excursion. When they move back in, they actually hit the bottom of the core physically.
