^^^^^ x2

I hate the sound of 4-banger engines, and when I think turbo I instantly think of a riced out civic with a turbo-ed 4 cyl and a fartcan muffler.

Nothin against you or your car kevin, it's just whenever I hear a turbo it puts that image in my head

ive had the best of both worlds.. but when i look at the old school muscle.. they are very nice cars until you try to turn them lol

the new technology has advanced too much.. you've got these ricers everyone hate that can beat new vettes ect..

the way gas prices are lately im staying away from my old habbits.. gonna stick to my jetta for a bit but ima buy a turbo today and another car this summer.. hoping to throw a turbo on the jetta later this summer

nothing agaisnt the old school.. i miss my 77 plymouth with the 440 and hurst 4 on the floor .. just the 4.10 gears ate away any gas mileage i thought i might have lmao

on another note.. just wondering if you ever heard a v8 with a turbo :-) ... some mean sounding motors

...and gas milage is not an excuse

it is one of the excuses.. drive my 77 plymouth for a month and you;d know where im coming from.. 8mpg hwy catches up quick

on another note i needed a 4 door car seeing my gf was prego and my bro works at a lot.. best choices they had at the moment was the jetta or a mazda 6 .. and well the jetta was better imoafter test driving em both and a little cheaper

I remember hearing about a twin turboed Corvette putting out about 1200 horsepower at the wheel which is pretty sick.I grew up an American Muscle guy pretty much but after seeing the push rods bending on V-engines it gets old :-( In comes the little 4 banger with the over head cam,no more push rods bending and in my opinion most of the import engines handled horsepower mods a lot better than the american engines.Newer american cars use a lot of different technology these days so...Anyhow when I went to College to become a mechanic he told me I should have been a doctor.Humans are basically machines but they don't ever change so you don't have to keep learning and learning like you do with cars :-)

Yeah cars just aren't built like they used to be. New cars have so much crap on them that something always breaks. It's all been downhill since the 80s when they started putting all the electronic emission control crap on the engines......

this has nothing to do with turbos although i lvoe my buddys turbo wrx with a greddy rs blowoff valve but....................

the other day i was in a grocery store parking garage and heard this sick looking 06-07 mustang. I have to admit I do not like mustangs sans the new ones or old ones, but this guy clearly had a nice supercharger, this stang was decked out. The parking garage amplified the sound of the s/c and at first it sounded like a weak little engine, and then the guy got on the throttle again and like silenced my laughing (me laughing at weak sounding v8). I then noticed the biga** intercooler and was pumped when the guy gunned it and the supercharger just sounded incredibly sweet (many will have no idea what im talking about, but if you know about super/turbochargers, youll know what i mean. This experience led me to want a new car with a turbo-"able"/supercharge-"able" engine......haha randomly long story, but if youve gotten here, awesome, glad i shared this experience.

^That must have been fun :-)Blow up any engines?I like 4 cylinder engines but I love a turboed or blown V-8 more than anything aside from a twin charged engine :-) Best of both worlds but it's not easy to do.

chevy motor? 454 is a BBC
that is unless its something else that was stroked.

yeah I've blown a few motors at strips. It's all a part of the game. Just tear em down and build em back up.. look at the diagnostics, see what caused the damage, etc..
