I want to run 2 sets of component alpine r's 5 1/4" and a set of alpine r 6x9's. Should i get a 6 ch. amp or a 4ch. and a 2ch. infinity reference? I just bought this clarion dvd receiver.

I'm putting monitors in the passenger visor, and in the headrest. I'm also toying with the idea of putting a playstation with hard drive loader in it. I would use a 17" removable monitor for it.

Ya, go with either the 6 channel amp, or just get the 4 channel amp and don't use an amp for the 6x9's.

The 6x9's will put out that mid range bass though. Wouldn't it be better to have the 6x9's on an amp, cause they are up on the back plate? The rear door speaker can't be heard that good. Would i run into a problem using three amps? 1 sub, 1 4ch., 1 2ch.? The clarion has 6-Channel RCA Line Level Output.

while this thread is in the wrong forum, and belongs in AMPLIFIERS and not SUBWOOFERS, I'll take a stab at it.

Firstly, why do you want to run those speakers? Ideally, keep the system as simple as possible, and if this is a car, and not a big van or something, stick with one or two subs in back, forget rear fill entirely, and get good components up front.
a 6 channel amp is good for two things:
1. running an entire budget system with one amp
2. active filter networks for components where every speaker in a 3 way system has it's own amp channel for ideal crossover and EQ control.

It sounds to me like you'd be better off with a good 2 or 4 channel amp for full range, and a mono amp for a sub or two.

So, scratch the idea of putting in 6x9's. Run the alpine r components in the front and rear doors off one four channel. It's a 2001 Cadillac De ville. 2 x dd9512's on a orion d5000. My bad on posting in the wrong section. I usually only come here. Feels like home.

now you're on the right track.
rear coax are fine. front components, both sets on a 4 chanel amp, then add a small sub on it's own amp, or look at 5 channel amp solutions.
the sub will round out the low end for the system, giving you a full audio spectrum, so if you're not after ground pounding bass,it'll just be a nice low end fill with a single 10" perhaps.
much better setup that way.

Haha with two 9512s and 5000 watts I think he's wanting that ground pounding bass.

BTW, Glasswolf. I wanna see some updated pics of all your rides. LIke the Charger with the stealth system. Also, didn't you have a ride with the F1 stuff from Alpine in it?

had the 7909 in the Charger.. replaced it with the newer pioneer P9 combo.
don't have any shots of it handy.. the car is still sitting at the body shop with fresh paint on it. I don't want to tow the car back to my house in this crappy weather.. not till it warms up a bit more and the roads dry out. Then I need to stuff the motor and trans back into the car, so it may be a while before I have it all back together.
