hey i saw the amp has 4x40 amp fuses. i have also talked to a couple sundown guys who say you can get 2500 rms at .5 ohms with 14 volts. i dont understand how you can get 2500 watts from 160 amp's ?? because 160 X 14.4 and 85% efficiency equals 1958 watts i dont doubt that the amp puts out the power i just would like an explanation why

i think i understand now, just because it has 160 amp fuse doesnt mean that it is the limit to the amperage the amp can draw ?? so if im pullin 200 amps of current through those 160 amp fuses shouldnt be a big deal i guess??

THAT AMP WILL NEVER MAKE 2500 RMS AT .5OHMS IT CAN DO CLOSE TO 2K RMS BUT AT .25OHMS IT IS IMPOSSIBLE THE SAME OWNER OR WHO BUILDS THOSE AMPS METERED EM... AND IT WILL NEVER MAKE THAT MUCH AMOUNT

Don't for get that the amount of current changes when the resistance changes. Your calculations were done without taking that into consideration.

yeah it will king rob, the testing at .5 ohms dropped to low 12's and made 2100 or so rms... if it kept 14.4 volts it would do 2500....and chill with the caps bro

1 amp, single 1000ca everstart maxx, 1 Eagle Picher 12a5000, factory alt

4 ohm nominal = 520 watts @ 88% efficiency (voltage fell from 14.3v, to 14.1v)
2 ohm nominal = 960 watts @ 84% efficiency (voltage fell from 14.3v, to 13.7v)
1 ohm nominal = 1635 watts @ 75% efficiency (voltage fell from 14.3v, to 12.8 volts
.5 ohm nominal = 1890 watts @ 71% efficiency (voltage fell from 14.3v, to 12.8v)

so if it kept 14.4 volts id prolly see around 2200 rms not quite 2500 but still enough to power two Q's

you guys understand that was with box rise right? your normal 2500w amplifier isnt going to put out 2500w. that would be if it actually saw the rated ohm load of the coils. that amp IS capable of 2500w rms at .5ohms.... but when wired to .5 ohms its going to see a slightly higher load taking away from its power.

its imposible for that lil amp to make at least 2500rms..... unlees its at like .1 ohms but its impossible.....to make that much power ul need a bigger headroom... larger mosfets (most important) and some extra caps....
