does louder really matter?
you should concentrate more on which has the aubidle characteristics you desire.

If you want good component speakers though, look to madisound.com

why would you want to waste 600rms or more to a tweeter?

we just had a guy come over to home audio and complain that his klipsch towers didn't have enough high end. Now, those are bright speakers, and the receiver he was trying to mate it to was bright as well... ear bleeder...

now, when I learned that he was a car audio enthusiast, surprise surprise... he had really loud, bright tweeters. System balance is everything. You don't want the highs, mids, or lows to overpower one particular spectrum.

power ratings are simply a thermal max rating for how much heat the voice coils can handle without melting.
it has nothing at all to do with how much power is required to reach full excurrsion, or max output.
this is true for all speakers.
