ok my friend needs a new sub, right now he has 2 15inch kicker comps(not the cvr's) ported with a jl 500watt amp, so he wants a single 18, so it has to be louder than the comps and work with 500watts, i was thinking FI ssd, any other choices to consider?

ya i think the ssd will work perfect, the rl-p needs more power, isn't there rms like 1000w, i was also thinking mach5audio, there subs are cheap as h3ll.

The Mach5 MJ-18 and SoundSplinter are also good options to the SSD.

ya the mj-18 would be nice, but it won't work, he has some discontinued JL amp, i think its e1400d, so its 500wrms@2ohm and the mj-18 only comes in 4/8ohm svc.

Don't let the small motor fool you, it's a neo magnet! More motor strength than a pair of BTL's!!
