Specs:
34l x 48w x 17h External
33.25 x 47.25 x 15.5 Internal
14.09cuft before sub/port displacement
11.59cuft after sub/port displacement
225.44sqin port Tuned to 40hz

My current box is 16.59 before and 14cuft after displacements.

Is this a bad idea? The new box will be wider, shorter in lenght, and shorter in height. This should put me in SS 1-2 NW and I can conceal my equipment easier. I don't want to build a smaller box if the performance will be dragged down. Its only about 2cuft smaller....

So what are your guy's input.

If those are truely like the 9500's without the cooling... you will be happy. My box is just about the same tuning\size for 2 15's i have no problems with it. nice and LOUD :-)

I'm sure it will be nice and loud still. but I'm not sure how it will perform on the TL. Just wondering if I calculated anything wrong and so forth. I really want a smaller box, tuned high, and about 12 inches away from the hatch like Dj recommended. By the time I finish building this box, my Massive amp should be back.

yeah, it should cost under 100 to build. No resin on this one, just 45's with wood. also I'm thinking about doing a interchangeable port, have it tuned 40 for comps and tuned 35 for daily.

If you are going to use an interchangeable port tune to 35-36 for daily and 45-47 for comps. The HD315's will get very loud in as little as 3 cubes net.

so I can go smaller? I was thinking about 10cuft after all displacement and do the interchangable port. Thanks DJ, I was wondering when you were going to drop by.
