That's the user's fault, but it is also a design flaw which is pioneer's fault. I haven't ever seen that problem on any other brand of HU, yet I've seen it several times on pioneers. Sure, if you are careful doing your installation, you won't have any problems. But not everyone is careful, which is why I don't recommend the newer pioneer HUs to people anymore. |

That's a bit extreme. The shield ground does fry easily, but it's nothing new for Pioneer head units, honestly, and can be avoided by installing the deck properly (which isn't hard to do). I mean, it mostly happens when they run power to the deck when they shouldn't be. It's an easy repair if the user is willing to run a jumper cable between the RCA outs and chassis ground on the deck. My vote goes for Pioneer here. |
