10" Type R in TCAB - Freq response

Silver Member Username: SpkrmanChi town, IL U S A Post Number: 274 Registered: Mar-06 | Something that has been requested is for a vid showcasing the frequency response of one of the setups... they are proven to get LOUD, but what about the frequency response, your typically peaky/loud setup? Well, here is a vid showing the frequency response of an alpine type R 10" woofer in a 2007 toyota yaris LB in a typical TCAB Classic design enclosure. Power is from a cadence z8000 amp - but of course the test was done at low volume. The mic was on my lap in the drivers seat, facing toward the front of the car. This placement was easy to film Vid also upped to realm, and a graph is in the works. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJSzrzOOcqM The response is very satisfactory - although the type R isn't the "tightest" sounding woofer, the response of the box makes it an awesome rap/etc setup. |

Shows the frequency response from 26 to 68hz. "I couldn't exactly tell the numbers in video.. mind writing them out like you were saying. 30hz-xxxdb 32hz-xxxdb and so on?" Starts off at 26hz, 95db. You can read the numbers pretty easily if you look closely, the only one I could see a problem with is 97db @ 30hz |

BTW there are some people on other forums who I've heard say TCAB boxes are SPL only "fartboxes".... I wonder what they would have to say about that test. |

So say they have a box tuned to 35hz they are setting it at around 31hz, WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF THE FREQUENCIES? I am sorry mine is set between 20-25hz, my TCAB boxes go low and like it there, lol. BTW Mark, great job on my new box, hits nicely  |

There is much skill involved in making this happen in a car. Please note, NO software was used in the design of this box - this is 100% off my head lol. Glad ya like your box man! |
