Would installing a bad amp(volfenhag 800rms) to a good sub(15" FI SSD) hurt the sub in any way? I wouldnt be using this amp but fedex sent it to me for free.

It's like putting a VW bug engine in a Lambo. Shouldn't hurt it, but I dont recomend it, plus the amp can handle like 1300.

The problem comes when the amp won't drive your sub to your desired level, causing some ppl to push the amp to its' limits. If you don't have your gains correctly set, any amp can damage that sub due to distortion. Hook/set it up right and bump responsibly. How would you feel if your "free" amp blew your sub you paid for?
