I recently purchased a boston sl60 component set. What would be a good amp to power them? I have access to this amp: http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4694342

But would rather buy something else if they would sound a considerable amount better.

any opinions?

Well judging by your amp choice there, you bought two sets? Something like these amps would be much better than that Sony.

Try this better...
http://cgi.ebay.com/KICKER-ZX350-4-4-CHANNEL-350-Watt-Amplifier-NEW-06-AMP_W0QQi temZ140090610993QQihZ004QQcategoryZ79823QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

You can use 2 channels for now or bridge it. If you get more speakers later, you can run them off that amp as well.
