Frequencies

Where does everyone like to set their crossovers at? Say you have a 12" or 15", how high of frequencies do you allow it to hit? Also, if you have a smaller sub, say 8" or 10", do you allow that to hit a little higher frequencies? Finally, for the components, do you just have those take over a little below the highest frequency of the sub? Thanks

BTW...never had a good pair of speakers to an amp. Will 6.5" thump or are they pretty soft?
