here is a pic of my new box design. i already stated on it. i have the sides and bottom already cut. before i start cutting wood for the port i just want to know what everyone thinks.

the box specs.......

6.2 cuft after driver and port displacement
154 sq inches port area. 4" x 38.5"
tuned to 36-38hz.

the pic you see is a side view of the box. the port will go across the back part of the top of the box. the port will fire in to the rear window.

Utter shite. j/k lol. I like that design alot actually. Are you going to put one of those new DD 18's in there? Cuz that box is huge. I think with your new batteries and this box you're gonna hit 150+ for sure.

Chad I really hope that the pressure reflects off the rear windshield the way you hope it will...lol.If not you're going to leak badly and you're going to lose DB,let's pray for the best on this one bro.

yeah rob. that is exactly what i am hoping for. it will reflect well cause my rear windshield is solid as a rock. lol. i hope.

brad that will be for 2 btl 15s. each driver will get 3.1 cuft each after displacement so it just barely meets the requierment.

Wait, is this a box that you're hoping to get to 150 with? Tuning is a little low, I would think it's a daily driving box?

lol. yeah its all good. me and rob go way back. rofl.

rearrangeyamind.......i know it is tuned a bit low for spl. but i am hoping the port area compensates for the low tuning. also i am mainly trying to be in the 140-149 bassrace class. i am hoping with this new box i can score around 146-147.

I'm not into SPL and comps so disreguard this question if it's stupid but.. Why not tune it high AND have a large port area?

Ooh and you can call me Matt

btw i think ima tune it to around 38hz.

since u got the set up in the seats ill do like a wall, since ur 50% doing that. go ports firing to the widnshield and do flared ports too but the big ones u might ask marshall white to make you some 9INCH ports, then when u have the box use another mdf panel to make it like a wall so no air or pressure can go in the back.

wall if u can get 9 inch the lenght wont be too much problem. i can get like 4 9 inch instead of the 4inch ports. wat u can do its to make a flare but slot poter but will be too hard. u can do that desgin u have. but make sure its all firing to the front. so the pressure goes directly to the mic like i siad try makin someting for the box like a panel for the box makin the air keep going str8t to the mic and not escape to the back

i would kev but if i do that, i would have bass waves traveling back. by doing what i am doing in the first pic, its almost like its in the rear corner of my car so all the bass waves have no where to go but forward.

Im just messing in paint. I dont know what effect it will have. But If you build it, try it a coulpe of ways. I notice diffrences when I move my box around. I have tried it in 6 diffrent configs, and I can hear a diffrence in 3 of em.

i'm no spl expert but somehow im not digging that firng rear concept

y not keep it very simple & do like what i once did Upload - 2 subs in single chambered well braced box & 1 monster port = immense bassline .....

build it into the trunk chad.. won't have to worry about rear=-wave cancelation

your going to have this issue no matter what design unless you built part of the box that slide into the trunk and ran ports directly up through the rear deck to reflect off the window...

btw if your going to run the port to the back like that. fire the subs forward.. key is wave alignment and that would be best for that seeing port placement

Driving, I could build a new box if I needed too. I was basicly expressing my jealousy for Chads continuosly changing system.
