All right today i bought a JBL BP1200 mono channel amp from a guy for 125 and he had a pair of 12 kappa perfect series and i was planning on buying type r's but i went to a guy at a local car audio store and he said that the kappa's wouldnt give me the bass i would want and that he had seen a lot of type r's coming in that had been blown and he said that with my amp it will probably blow the woofers. I told him i was on a budget but he still recommened JL W6's and the Memphis M3 but they seem really expensive and i dont really have enough to buy them now so do you think that i should buy the type r's or what should i do. The type r's are dual 2 ohm and are 500 RMS a piece and i dont know the exact specs on the amp but i do know that it does 1200 watt RMS at 2 ohms.

really then why would they most likely blow if i give each one 600 he thinks they wont be able to handle 1000 or is this guy just feedin me crap and is trying to get me to buy his products. So should i just buy the type r's and not listen to him or what
