howcome amps dont come with optical cables like home ones do it just uses regular rca cables magine the sound you could get from using optical cabling or even coaxial anything better then RCA's IS car audio that far behind from home audio that they still use RCA's or is there an amp and cd deck out there that uses optical cable? that would be sweet so much louder and clearer

Coaxial outs generally deliver better overall quality than optical because most companies use very cheap Toslink connectors. But... in a car environment optical would be superior because it is 100% immune to any electronic or magnetic interference.

Good question, and the only answer I would have is to keep costs down.

home audio also use rca cables. if you get a separate amp for the speakers, it would be connected with rca cables from the receivers to the amp. the optical is used when you are connecting something to the receiver.

majority of the indash units for cars do have optical connectors. for example....if you get a 5.1 processor for the pioneer avh5700dvd, you would connect to the processor with a optical cable. but from the processor to the amps would be rca cables.
