Does anyone have a gmc jimmy/blazer with 4x6" speakers in the dash? If so, how would you go about installing aftermarket speakers in there since gm is stupid as hell and has to make everything complicated???

I had a 94 Bravada which is same thing as the jimmy and blazer. I used 4x6" to 4" adapter plates.

I have a 94 blazer, same body style as the 93. I currently have kenwood 4x6 speakers in the dash because they are the only speakers I could find that would fit. Not only is 4x6 an odd size but the Blazer's speaker mounting depth is really shallow.

But I am in the process of buliding a new system where I will be using these:

They are called Q-form kick panels, they hold a 5 1/4in component set. I am hoping that they will be better than having speakers in the dash, cause having the speakers up so high really sounds bad.
