I say that we start a club for people with 8's or 10's.

Naaah, probably won't happen...who wants to be known for small wangers anyway?

I have two Audax 8" subs right now. They fill the cab with plenty of volume and provide decent lows.

.92 CF ported, tuned to 49 Hz.

I used to have two pairs of 10" DVC Peerless subs that required 1600 watts for my home system. I then "Upgraded" to two 8" Aura subs that were louder and had better control than the power hungry DVC Peerless.

The Peerless had 3 CF each in two compound isobaric boxes (so 6 CF for all 4), while the Auras were in a 1 CF ported box each.

Size doesnt matter after all. Ha Ha Ha. :-)

which auras where they and how did they sound for the real lows in the HT like 15-30hz or did you have another sub for that?

No, I had a special set, one of a kind. My buddy used to work for them. They were specially engineered. You cant buy them anywhere anymore. I think they made like 10 sets as prototypes. I got one set. These didnt get that low. They were more for CD audio verses HT surround. They would go down to 30 Hz with decent output, and then they dropped off sharp, so not much lower.

If you like Auras, they make some nice larger subs for that, but they is power hungry (dbl spiders, and like low 80's efficiency, etc..)

Ty McLoud,

Cross Rd, huh? I had a buddy of mine that lived on Cross Rd. Thats like the border of Orangevale, and Citrus heights.

I feel both sides of the fence here. I love the clarity a good system can deliver, yet still crave the bass needed to set you back. Guess that's what happens when an ex car basshead turns to the HT side. You want the thump, with the tingle of the pin drop.

Ya, I used to love bass, then I loved midbass, then I wanted crisp tweeters, then I wanted fast response, then I wanted loudness, by this time I got older and sick of compromise and didnt need all that much, so I just have two small wangers, lol. :-(:-)
