The red cylinder has one side that is a bowl with a cone like peak in the middle (that protrudes into the open sided blue cylinder), and the other open (port). Basically, the sub fires down into the cylinder (the box I guess...) spreading around the peak, and rounds the bottom to fire out the port. Makes it so theres minimal resistance... an uber box, if you will.
