Im debating about getting either Alpine type R 500 rms. or the new rockford fosgate phase 2, 250 rms

Im looking for sq, and over all a something that is going to last.
Both are going to be 10" I want a dualsub system, and here is another question should i buy a mono amp or 2 chanel amp? in example that I select the Alpine should u buy a 500rms amp or a 1000 rms amp? (2 ohms both subs) for max rms.
thanks for everything, and the Fi Q was too much for me

haven't heard the rockford but type r's are good for the money. and if you go with the r's get an amp that'll do about 1200wrms at 2ohms' (taking the r's are dual 2ohm from your post).

Get a 1 ohm stable Mono amp and buy two 4ohm subs so you can wired them @ 1ohm. I currently have 2 12's type Rs in a 5 net cube ported box and they are very nice subs on a tight budget. I used to have a rockford fosgate p3 and it was a solid sub but the Alpine is one of the best bang for your buck sub out there.

Lanzar LQ12CAP $59 1.2 farad
Alpine SWR-1042D $117 x 2 $234 10" ohms 500rms each

I went to best buy with my brother, dont worry i wont do any bussines there, and while I was looking at the type R subwoofer, the best buy guy came and so i asked him how would i be able to wire the subs at 1 ohms, but he was in a blank he told me he knew how to wire them at 2 ohms but he also told me that they wouldnt be stable at 1 ohm... is that true?

No not at all. When wiring up your subs, they will be stable at whatever ohm you can wire them too. It's all about what ohm your amp can handle.
